Title: Node Negative and Herceptin queries
From: Shirley Anne Royal 26 June 2008
Hi Samantha, I am so grateful for the work you have done in putting this website together. It is invaluable to people like me, recently diagnosed, lots of questions, needing answers. I'm still confused as to the whole HER2 issue. I've just had a mastectomy on the left side, and the tumour results came back to say node negative. We are now awaiting a Fish test (I think its called) to establish if I'm HER2 positive so that I can have Herceptin. The onco says this will be a good result and increase my prognosis, but when I read your site, it sounds like a negative result to get. Can you help clarify perhaps? Thanks again, Shirl

I was yesterday diagnosed with a malignant tumour in my right breast - the one where I have already had a mastectomy. What are the chances when getting it for the second time. I have more tests planned for Monday and surgery on Wednesday.

From: Charmaine 29 May 2008
I went for my first mammogram and than I had to go for a Ultrasound. The results was that I have two 5.7mm cycst in my left hand breast, but the doctor say it is not malignant. Do you think I must get worried as it is a painful or do I just live with the pain? I have the results in my car. I can send it to you if you want? Please help!!

Hi Sam
I saw you this morning on Morning Live and i would just like to wish you good luck and all the strenght in the world to help you to cope with the cancer for a second time around.
I lost my father approximately 2 years ago to lung cancer and that was terrible enough, but now i also found a lump in my breast. I went to the doctor and she booked me for a mammogram, but when i got to the hospital they said i am too young for a mammogram, so they gave me a sonar (I am 25). They saw something but said it was very small and that i have to come back in a couple of months time, to see if it has grown. i still feel the lump and it seems to me that it is growing, but i am not sure. So i will go again
But again thank you for being on Morning Live and telling SOuth Africa about this site. It helped a lot.
Good luck,
Chrisma

Hi, saw the lady on Morning Live this morning, full of energy and looking lovely. I too had breast cancer 4,5 years ago but look onto the Lord as He has saved me from this illness and I live every day as if it will be my last. I loved not having hair, I loved counting my blessings and most of all love talking to people and motivating them that breast cancer is not a death sentence. Please do send me newsletters and I salute woman of all races that are affected by this illness. Greetings
